Day 1: Heraklion

Day´s stage: 120 km – overnight stay: 4-5 Star-Hotel, Heraklion

Flight with well-known scheduled airline service from Frankfurt am Main or Hamburg (optional) to Heraklion (connecting flight possible). Meeting in the terminal with your qualified road captain who accompanies you during the whole trip.

Day 2: Piskopiano

Day´s stage: 130 km – overnight stay: 4-5 Star-Hotel Heraklion

Today we go on a small country tour to the south. We ride over the mountains through some villages. At the end of the tour we are guaranteed breathtaking views to the landscape.

Day 3: Piskopiano

Day´s stage: 150 km – overnight stay: 4-5 Star-Hotel Heraklion

Small side trip to the east of Crete. We ride over the mountains on the northern coast to Plaka. Plaka is located opposite the entrance to the Corfu lagoon, one of the most beautiful places in Crete. One feature of Plaka is the wonderful view to the island of Kalydon, where the famous fortress of Spinalonga is situated. Spinalonga was used as leprosy hospital during the first half of the 20th century. We go on riding to Mirabello Bay and Agios Nikolaos, one of the most magnificent cities of Crete.

The city owes its name to the small domed church “Agios Nikolaos” from the 10th century. The fresh water lake „Voulismeni “, located in the city center and connected to the sea by a canal, gives the city its very special flair. On our way back we make a small stop in Neapoli. Church Megali Panagia characterizes the city of Neapoli. There is a big place around the church with lots of traditional cafés (Kafenios) and taverns. We are going to visit an olive oil mill.

Day 4: Piskopiano

Overnight stay: 4-5 Star-Hotel Heraklion

Day at leisure. We stay overnight in Piskopiano, a traditional village with narrow streets in northern Crete. It is a very popular place for tourists. The old houses of this typical Crete village are well worth seeing and you have a great view from this place to sea, villages and beaches around. A day on the beach of Cherosonnisos may be a very nice alternative for today. We are pleased to give you further hints at any time!

Day 5: Piskopiano

Day´s stage: 330 km – overnight stay: 4-5 Star-Hotel Heraklion

Today our motto is “Back to the sixties”. On the south coast of Crete, you find Matala, a village with unique living caves, where Hippies from the 60s and music legends like Cat Stevens and Bob Dylan lived. Nowadays you can visit the famous living caves. Matala is a mystic place – the legend tells, that Zeus, father of the gods, rose here out of the sea in the form of a bull with beautiful Princess Europa on his back. Some kilometers away is Cosmo Beach, the even longest sandy beach on the southern coast. We make another small detour to Ierapetra, the southernmost city of Europe.

Day 6: Piskopiano

Day´s stage: 150 km – overnight stay: 4-5 Star-Hotel Heraklion

Today we ride to Lassithi Plateau. The biggest high plateau of Crete is 830 m high, 10 km long and 5 to 7 km wide. It is one of the most fertile regions on the island. A ring road runs around Lassithi plateau. Here you can visit the cave, where Zeus was born. We ride on to Lasinthos Eco Park. Most of the inhabitants live from farming and life goes its peaceful Crete way in that place.

On our way back to the coast we visit Milatos Cave (cave of Milatos). Milatos Cave is famous for the tragedy that happened in February 1823. In the winter of the year 1822-23 Hassan Pascha devastated the plateau. Afterwards his troops went on to the Mirabelo region. The inhabitants of the region foresaw his destructive intention and hid in the local caves. Another destination of today is the little harbor town Sissi, a charming small fishing village on the northern coast of Crete.

Day 7: Piskopiano

Overnight stay: 4-5 Star-Hotel Heraklion

During the day, we are going to load our motorbikes. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 8: Flight home

a shuttle / taxi takes us to the airport and we must say goodbye.

Possibility 1:
Collection of your motorbikes at the location of your choice (we pick up your bikes for an additional charge at your home and take it to Crete with a truck suitable for motorcycle transports).

Possibility 2:
You take your motorcycle to Bad Hersfeld – loading of the bike in Bad Hersfeld.

Possibility 3:
Motorcycle rental (we rent a motorcycle for you for an additional charge).
