TOUR DESCRIPTION

 

DAY 1: NEW ORLEANS

Flight with well-known scheduled airline service from Frankfurt am Main or Hamburg (optional) to New Orleans (connecting flight possible). Meeting in the terminal with your qualified road captain who accompanies you during the whole trip.

 

DAY 2: NEW ORLEANS

Day at leisure. Optionally you may join a boat trip on a paddle steamer accompanied by your guide. Afternoon and evening are at leisure. An absolute must is Bourbon Street, a street in the heart of New Orleans, the French Quarter, where live music comes from every pub. The right place if you love Jazz.

 

DAY 3: NATCHEZ

Day´s stage: 349 km – overnight stay in Natchez

This morning we collect our bikes. Your luggage is loaded into the support vehicle. Let´s start! We pass Hurricane Katrina Memorial and ride over Lake Pontchartrain. Lake Pontchartrain in the southeast of Louisiana is a brackish lake and after the Great Salt Lake the second largest salt water lake in the USA. On our way, we stop at the Harley dealer in Baton Rouge. Our destination is Natchez on the Mississippi. The city is famous for its impressive mansions of antebellum architecture in Greek revival style. You may eventually increase your vacation budget in the casino. A detour to Harley is planned.

 

DAY 4: TUPELO

Day´s stage: 467 km – overnight stay in Tupelo

Today we ride some time along Natchez Trace Parkway, a road in a wonderful landscape, mainly surrounded by forest with old trees. We make a stop at Ross Barnett Reservoir, where alligators live and stop at Natchez Trace Overlook. We cross Tombigbee National Forest on our way to Tupelo, the place of birth of Elvis Presley. There we visit the birth house and the memorial chapel of Elvis.

 

DAY 5: MEMPHIS

Day´s stage: 177 km – overnight stay in Memphis

We cross Holly Springs National Forest and ride to Graceland, the mansion of Elvis Presley. You can optionally take part in a German audio-tour through living rooms, kitchen, TV and billiard rooms with bar in the cellar of the mansion. We go on riding to Memphis, our destination of today. First, we ride to the local Harley dealer. We stay overnight in the legendary luxury Peabody Hotel in downtown, where we watch the Peabody Ducks. In the evening, we visit Beale Street (around the corner), “America´s Most Iconic Street”, home of the Blues.

 

DAY 6: NASHVILLE

Day´s stage: 358 km – overnight stay in Nashville

This morning we ride a loop over Hernando de Soto Bridge above the Mississippi. We ride on to the most beautiful part of Natchez Trace Parkway in the direction of Jackson. There we make a short detour to the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Our destination of today is Nashville, the center of country music. Visiting the Harley dealer in Nashville is scheduled. In the evening we visit the Broadway, where are countless bars and saloons.

 

DAY 7: CHATTANOOGA

Day´s stage: 270 km – overnight stay in Chattanooga

This morning we ride to Jack Daniel´s Distillery in Lynchburg. Then we ride to the City of Lynchburg, where you find souvenir shops, restaurants etc... We enjoy a snack there. Now we ride along the curvy scenic road directly to Lookout Mountain. From the top of Lookout Mountain, you can see the city of Chattanooga and the valley of Tennessee River. The mountains were of strategic importance in American Civil War on 24 November 1863, when the Battle of Lookout Mountain took place. We have the possibility to visit Rock City, where you reach an overlook after a short walk through rock caves passing a waterfall. When the weather is fine you can probably see the seven US states. Thunder Creek Harley Davidson is on our way.

 

DAY 8: TOWNSEND

Day´s stage: 273 km – overnight stay in Townsend

We start early in the morning and ride the curvy Cherohala Skyway before stopping at the Visitor Center. The highway is the most beautiful road in the Blue Ridge Mountains with many overlooks. Afterwards we reach “Deals Gap”, an 18-km long mountain road through the Appalachian Mountains, the border between the US states of North Carolina and Tennessee. It is part of Highway 129 and counts 318 curves. Naturally we are not going to leave this place without a patch or pin for our motorcycle jacket.

 

DAY 9: ANDERSON

Day´s stage: 304 km – overnight stay in Anderson

Today we cross the Great Smoky National Park. It is situated in the Appalachian Mountains in US states of North Carolina and Tennessee. It was established on 15 June 1934, and is a world heritage site. The forest, which covers the park, is one of the oldest forests on earth and the biggest jungle area in the eastern USA. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is famous for its everlasting fog and long clouds painting the mountains blue. We make a detour to Clingmans Dome Visitor Center, where we enjoy a great view to the landscape. Clingmans Dome is 2,025 m high and the highest mountain in the national park. We probably see one of the “cute” black bears which live in the park. We ride along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway in the direction of Cherokee. Cherokee is a city in Swain County in the US state of North Carolina in the southeast of the USA. The eastern Cherokee Indians have their main living place here. We cross Lake Hartwell and ride to Anderson.

 

DAY 10: SAVANNAH

Day´s stage: 349 km – overnight stay in Savannah

We cross Augusta and ride directly to Savannah on the Atlantic coast. Savannah is a city in Chatham County in the US state of Georgia. Many tourists come to see the old city with its green places and many renovated houses. It is one of the most beautiful places in the USA. Film shootings have often taken place here in Savannah, such as “Gone with the wind” and parts of “Forrest Gump”. In the film Forrest Gump waits for the bus on a bench at Chippewa Square in W. Hull Street. The bench stands in the Savannah History Museum (Savannah Visitor Center) now. We plan a joint trip by trolley bus or a Savannah discovery tour. In the evening, we visit the old city and stay in the river area.

 

DAY 11: SANKT AUGUSTINE

Day´s trip: 286 km – overnight stay in Sankt Augustine

After crossing Jacksonville, we ride along the coastline to Sankt Augustine. On our way, we have a break on one of the islands. We ride to famous Lions Bridge and have a magnificent view to the landscape. In addition, we visit the famous lighthouse. St. Augustine has a beautiful, white sandy beach to go swimming. You can explore St. Augustine conveniently by foot. However, you should book a trolley or a horse-drawn carriage tour to visit the most different interesting attractions. In the evening, you can optionally go on a guided horror tour in the dark.

 

DAY 12: ORLANDO

Day´s stage: 198 km – overnight stay in Orlando

We ride on along the coast to the biggest Harley dealer in the world to Daytona Beach. In Daytona Beach, the biggest Harley meeting worldwide takes place every year. One of the most famous sandy beaches in Florida with a size of 36 km is located here. We ride on over Cape Canaveral to Orlando, where we return our motorcycles. Our hotel is on the famous International Drive. There is a lot to see and to experience. You may optionally visit one of the outlet shopping malls.

 

DAY 13: ORLANDO

Overnight stay in Orlando

Day at leisure. You can go shopping or visit one of the numerous theme parks (Seaworld, Universal Studios, Disney etc.). Our tour trip: day trip to Miami with South Beach and Everglades Tour.

 

DAY 14: FLIGHT HOME

A shuttle takes us to the airport and we must say goodbye (connecting flight possible).
